October 2015

We cannot believe that we have been in school for over a month!  There already have been so many exciting things that have happened.  We began school earlier than normal, were introduced to our school theme of Kindness Counts, learned about new technology (especially Edmodo), met our first grade buddies, prepared for the arrival of Pope Francis, celebrated Mercy Day, had an assembly on Respect, and began out Global Read Aloud.  Wow!  That doesn't even include what we learned in class.  It is going to be a fabulous fifth grade year.

In a few weeks, the fifth graders will be updating our Blog with what is happening in our class and school.  Be sure to stay tuned.

January 13, 2015

Can you believe that it is the middle of January already?  The fifth grade is right into the swing of things after our long Christmas break.  We have completed our Science unit in Heat and our chapters about Jesus in Religion.  ELA has been exciting with Flashlight Friday and our activities with cause and effect.  Tall Tales are on deck as our next writing project.  Be on the lookout for our published pieces during Catholic Schools Week!

Fright Night

We are very excited about tomorrow night's Family Fright Night.  Today, we had to help persuade Mrs. Gresko on what to pick as her Halloween costume.  There are a lot of creative minds in 5B!

Cow Plop

Well, Arctic Rose didn't plop while visiting us at St. Jude.  Our class did win a $50 good neighbor prize in the drawing.  It was a beautiful afternoon to enjoy time with our classmates and a large dairy cow.

Race for Education

We are ready to race!

October 17, 2014

Things are moving and grooving this Fall in 5B.  We have completed our first Theme in ELA and our first unit in Science. We are starting to learn more about the Sacraments of Initiation in  Religion.  We are creating stop motion videos about Baptism.  They will be posted when competed.  Next Friday is jam packed with excitement:  Race for Education, Talent Day, and Cow Plop.  Will our school race and meet our goal?  What fabulous talents do our students have?  Will the cow plop on our land deed?  What is your prognostication?
